We were using an oval pyrex roasting pan with a rectangular pyrex pan on top as a cover to roast chicken. Worked fine although the seal was questionable. And then one day it smoked out the house. We bought the Granite Ware 15 Inch Covered Oval Roaster to solve the problem. It did. Fits a 5lb chicken no problem, with plenty of room for vegetables. I have been looking for quite a while for this kind of roaster. I was happy to see Amazon had them. It is a great piece to have - holds larger size roasts and such. It is very easy to clean and does seem to cook more evenly then say corning ware or glass. I love this piece.

We have owned two other roasters like this one. One, I left at work while taking a pot luck dinner. The other, my wife used the roaster for "on top" of stove cooking....the burner was too high and the bottom of the roaster burnt, so we threw it away. We had been without a 15 inch roaster for quite awhile, then my wife seen this on Amazon. We just finished a roast made in this new roaster. This cooks evenly, and the clean up isn't difficult at all. I would recommend this roaster to anyone who is in the market for roasters. Thanks Amazon!
