The vertical roaster is small and not appropriate for an average size chicken. You need to place the roaster in a larger pan to avoid spillage in the oven. It becomes very slippery and difficult to maneuver when removing the cooked chicken from the oven. The roaster slides around in the larger pan and it's hot from roasting. I would not recommend this item.

This vertical roaster is barely big enough to hold a cornish game hen; I still need to use a larger foil pan underneath. All the other roasters are also too small to catch dripping.It works in that it roasts well. Price is low, but then there is really nothing much to it.
