I bought his because i'm the one in the family that cooks the turkey for get togethers. I love it, it fits a 25 lb turkey, I know because that's what I put in it, with it stuffed. It got a ring around the inside of the pan where the broth level was and all I did when I was done was wash it with soapy water and a sponge and it cleans right out. I've used this for roast, stuffed cabbage balls, which you know tomato sauces leave a black ring, and it still cleaned up just as easy. Its great. Worth the money. It is heavy. Buy one of these for someone special or just for yourself, you wont regret it.

I ordered this based on one review it had here on Amazon (and attracted initially by the price). I had been shopping for a stainless steel roaster for awhile and was drawn to this for the price (many others of smaller or similar size cost a lot more money). For its first use, I had a 27-pound turkey, but would recommend a smaller one - the 27-pound turkey fit fine but almost had a disaster with an overflow of juices during baking. So unless you can keep an eye on it, would recommend a 20-22 pounder.This roaster is a work of art, it is a joy to cook in and to look at as well. It is so beautiful that after I received it, it sat out on my counter for a week so my family and I could admire it. My family and I would get a kick out of any vistors we had during that time as they also would be drawn to it - would pick up the lid, look inside and admire it also - many times just out of the blue, not saying anything beforehand but just upon noticing it sitting there.It has that space-age type of rounded oval design, is extremely well put together and comes in its own sturdy plain white box (inside the cardboard packing carton) which I use for storage. I am always looking for an excuse to use it, it not only works well but is quite stylish and I have used it right on the fanciest-set tables to many compliments.The stainless steel is a very thick grade, it is very heavy (13 1/2 pounds), it cleans super easily (sometimes with a just a little soaking, a non-scatch scouring pad and occasionally a little Barkeeper's Friend) and looks like new every time I put it away waiting for the next use. The rack is strong and sturdy and I have used the rack separately in other more shallow pans for this reason. I am in the process of converting over to all stainless cookware and this is one item I consider one of my better deals.If I had a glass-fronted cabinet, it would be on display there all the times I am not using it, I think it is that pretty. If you've been considering going over to stainless steel for a roaster, you cannot beat this one for a great start. It was shipped fast and securely and I had it in plenty of time for Thanksgiving even though I ordered it only 10 days before.

I just received this roasting pan, with rack and lid, and I am really surprised and impressed with its quality and design. In short, it is beautiful, well made, has the heft of quality, has an heavy multi-layer cooking surfaces both under the pan on on the lid (so the lid can be used as a pan too), and has a very well designed rack with a lifter that can be used when cooking in the pan or the lid.I needed a high quality oval fish pan and I also was interested in getting a new covered roaster. So when I found this I was immediately drawn to the idea of killing two birds in one product.But I frankly was a little skeptical based on the price. I have found that you usually get what you pay for and good quality oval fish pans alone were running over $200 (e.g. see the All-clad fish pan). It thought "this could be pretty cheesy" but went ahead figuring I could return it. I was encouraged by the weight - over 13 pounds means it was probably pretty serious.Anyway I ordered it and am beyond happy with it. The lid is constructed with a heavy multi-layer perfectly flat top that serves as a very good cooking bottom when you flip it over and use it as an oval cooking pan on its own. Got this today, used the fish pan tonight. Because of this heavy duty "bottom" it has very good heat distribution when used on the stove top, but also can be used in the oven. That alone is a unique design and is truly valuable. This is easily as good in quality and utility as the over $200 oval fish pans I had been seeing in stores and on line.The roasting pan is a generous size. And it also has an even heavier multilayer perfectly flat bottom for use on a stove top or in the oven.Both the pan and lid are highly polished stainless steel and look gorgeous.Both the lid and the pan have very heavy duty handles that look like they will last forever.Before ordering I had read another gushing review by a person who says she likes to leave this out for friends to admire, and that they do admire it. When I read that I thought it was just a little over the top. But now I totally understand what she is saying. It really is that "pretty" to use her word. And I bet anyone serious about cooking or quality cookware upon seeing this would comment on it.I am acquainted with quality cookware and am willing to pay for it. I have a $1200 set of All Clad that I love - I think it is the finest cookware available. But this roasting pan is right there with it, and at a micro fraction of the cost. This was really a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend it!
